The Main Hall The Shirley Room Terms and Conditions

If you’re looking for a space to hold your own event, or for a society or club, the Howard Hall offers two rooms available for hire. This section of our website contains everything you need to know about hiring our facilities.

Before making a booking, please ensure you have read and agree to our Terms and Conditions of Hire and GDPR Privacy Notice.

You can check on room availability, request a booking, or cancel or change an existing booking; please use the tabs below.

Please note: The minimum period of hire is one hour. We allow a 30-minute buffer between bookings to allow time for setting up and clearing away. As a result, the booking system will not allow reservations that start or end within 30 minutes of an existing booking. If you need more than 15 minutes to clear away, build the time into your booking. Remember the next person may need 15 minutes to set up.

You must be 18 years of age or over to make a booking. If you are booking on behalf of a business, club, charity or other organisation, you must:

have the authority to enter into a contract on behalf of the organisation; and
provide the organisation’s name and address, together with your role within the organisation, when completing the booking request.

By submitting a booking request, you also acknowledge that your personal data will be processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Your information will be used solely to administer your booking and will only be shared where necessary for the management of the Hall or where required by law.
