Application for Free Use of Our Facilities
Howard Hall may be made available free of charge for a single community event or meeting where all of the following conditions are met:
- The event provides a clear benefit to the local community;
- The event is open to all members of the community;
- Admission is free of charge;
- No money changes hands, except when raising funds for a registered charity or an approved good cause;
- Everyone involved in organising and running the event does so on a voluntary, unpaid basis;
- No commercial trading or financial gain takes place, other than fundraising for a registered charity or recognised good cause that has been agreed in advance; and
- The organisers agree to indemnify the Durobrivae Lodge Benevolent Fund against all liability, claims, actions, proceedings, losses, damages, costs and expenses arising from, or in connection with, the event.
All organisers must also comply with the Terms and Conditions for the Hire of Howard Hall.
Applications are considered individually by the Hall Management Committee. Approval is entirely at the Committee’s discretion, and there is no automatic entitlement to free use of the facilities.
As hire fees contribute towards the operation, maintenance and long-term sustainability of Howard Hall, free use can only be granted on an occasional basis. Approval for one event does not create any ongoing entitlement to free or discounted use of the venue.
